I ARTISTEO. You artisteas. We artisteamos…
A play based on short stories by Augusto Monterroso and texts by Gao Xingjian, in which the characters journey through the various realms of artistic creation in search of the ever-elusive yet essential social recognition. We all want our 15 minutes of fame. But fame comes at a price… How far are you willing to go?
We explore familiar themes—such as how to make a living, the relationship with institutions, the role of criticism, and so on—to discuss the role and function of the artist in today's society.
And once you get there… What do you do?
